Hello peeps! This is my first time writing up a food review. So bear with me all the technical jargon and honest expression about the food I’ve eat.
The reason I’m writing up the food review is because my brother keep badgering my ears to write an honest review about the food and cafe we have visited for the past years. We called ourselves an expert of cafe and restaurant hunting. But the review must come from myself as it is an honest review from my heart.
This restaurant is situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur central business district famously known as Bukit Bintang. It is a tourist hotspot and a luxury fashion district in KL.
The decor is a stunning mix of mid-century feelings yet music. Every table provides a clear view of the famously Bukit Bintang pedestrian crossing. It is open bar and you can see the barisster in action. Diners without reservation are invited to sit on the bar that is beautifully decorated with comfortable stools facing thematic physical audio and music artwork.
The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering snakcs and main courses that will appeal to youngsters and adults alike. My brother and I ordered Hawaiian Chicken Burger and Ultimate Burger. Honesty, both were all exquisite and taste divine. The burger bun is very soft and red in colour due to beetroot. I can taste strong buttery flavour followed by subtle hint of beetroot after taste. The mid-size patty is somehow lighter than it appears. It is not so juicy because fat percentage on this meat is low but still the juice flowing down through my fingers. With slice of pineapple, you can feel the freshness and feeling on Summer Vacation.
I’ve tried a chew from my brother’s Ultimate Beef Burger. It’s a thick but not too-thick piece of meat with sharp cheese, a soft red bun similar to what I’m having, and ice lettuce salads as the sides. You can choose three variations of sides which they offers salads, hash browns or thick crispy fries. You could split it with someone, but please don’t. We could eat several of these in one sitting, and now that we’ve come up with that idea, we probably will.
It was all followed by an orange moist chocolate cake. This decadant cake taste divine. The flavours work very well together, no one flavour over powers the other!
Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. I believe the chef use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu, and they offer signatures drinks. The drinks are pricey but surely worth sampling.
The service was one of the highest quality. The waiters seemed very warm and thoughtful. They came around to check on our experience and seemed to be authentically engaged.
Notwithstanding the disinterested waters, I highly recommend this restaurant or whatever they called; bar or cafe. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is brilliant. For sure, date night would be great here while the view looking out to the KL skyline.
I’ve cleanse my palate, hope to see you on the next honest review series write up!
Signing off,
Emir S.
V88 opens 10am to 10pm daily. They got other branch in Desa Parkcity and nearby Pasar Seni at Jalan Sultan.
Please note this is a delayed post and as such, the menu may have changed since my visit to the establishment.
